Double Jeopardy Filmed in Liberty National Convention Location! We have a little cinematic trivia for you! As we get closer to departure for #LNLConvention2014 everything is about New Orleans, which is home to several movie stars and filming locations.

From New Orleans to the Silver Screen

Have you seen the movie Double Jeopardy starring Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones? The film, about a woman framed for the murder of her husband, was shot at a variety of locations including the city of New Orleans within Lafayette Cemetery’s rusting iron gates.

The flick creates a mood of mystery and suspense. Want to check it out for yourself? Watch the movie, and when you’re at Convention you’ll see New Orleans’ Lafayette Cemetery #1 like you saw it onscreen!

New Orleans is packed with trivia, pop culture, and claims to fame. Other films like Interview with the Vampire, Beautiful Creatures, 21 Jump Street, and The Skeleton Key, were shot on location in New Orleans.

Why all the movie buzz around New Orleans? The state offers the most competitive economic and tax incentives in the country. A system of financial benefits were put in place after Hurricane Katrina destroyed $81 billion in property and killed 1,836 people in 2005*. Films that might have initially been too expensive to film in Hollywood can move production to the Big Easy.

Liberty National Red Carpet
